This topic is for subcontractors who want to ask a practical question, hear from others with similar experience or receive guidance based on my legal and casework experience.
You can ask about:
unpaid invoices or withheld wages;
pay less notices;
CIS and self-employed status;
holiday pay;
unlawful deductions;
worker status;
contractor disputes;
ACAS and Employment Tribunal claims;
adjudication or court action; and
evidence you should keep.
Other members are welcome to share their own experiences and practical opinions. I will also contribute where I can explain the legal position or point you toward the correct next step.
Please keep questions factual and avoid posting private information such as bank details, home addresses, National Insurance numbers or confidential documents.
No question is too small. If something about your contractor, payment or working arrangement does not feel right, ask the group.
